Introduction to the Sterile Processing Department

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This course introduces key concepts, principles and practices associated with the sterile processing department within the context of infection prevention and control.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
1.Explain the various guidelines and regulatory groups leading the way in sterile processing.
2. Speak to the process in general terms from point of use care to sterile storage.
3. Understand the flow of the process and challenges to look for in the space that impact patient safety.
